It wouldn’t be a gaming month without an announcement about a video game title from the past coming back to the present with an upgrade. The team at Ziggurat Interactive is the publisher behind the latest announcement on that front, as Sanitarium Enhanced has been revealed to be coming to Steam and consoles later this year. If you aren’t familiar with this horror title from the past, that might be because the game came out on the Commodore 64! Yeah, that’s pretty retro. “Return to the asylum and try to remember your past all over again in SanitariumTM Enhanced, a modernised and improved version of DreamForge Intertainment’s award-winning cult horror classic from 1998. In this point-and-click adventure, available for the first time on consoles, you awaken as an amnesiac in a decaying asylum. Escape from your cell and into a genuinely terrifying world featuring villages of deformed children and other grotesque and mutated inmates as you figure out how you got there.

This updated version of the game adds modern features to the visually striking title, including full controller support for consoles and Steam Deck, never-before-seen bonus material, widescreen presentation, and other quality-of-life improvements.”
