Yogscast Games and Save Sloth Studios have recently announced that their newest title The Royal Writ will officially be released on XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and XBOX Game Pass.

In this humorous roguelike deckbuilder, the player must use their visual creativity and their tactical wit to come out on top:

“Combining glorious picturebook visuals, delightfully dark humour and high-stakes tactical card play where permadeath is absolute, The Royal Writ invites players to experiment to unlock perfect synergies and feel the urge to return to the battlefield for yet one more run!”

Player must also balance the value of their army of unusual soldiers with the risk of permanently losing them:

“Enlist a charming army of ants, bats, lizards – oh my! – deploying them across one to three lanes to advance turn-by-turn toward the enemy gates. Balance base power with multiplication modifiers to reduce the opponent’s health to zero.

But beware: every step brings your troops closer to the frontline and if one of your fighters reaches the enemy base or falls into hazardous perils, it is permanently destroyed from your deck (and your heart).”

The console edition will launch fully up-to-date with the PC version, as well as additional content and features:
