A clear boon of our modern gaming age is that content updates are prevalent and sometimes frequent, depending on the game developer. Flyway Games released Ascend to ZERO in July, and the buzz around it has been growing. Perhaps that encouraged them to go big with one of its first updates, as the game has gotten more content. More specifically, it’s gotten more chips for players to use to defeat the bullet-hell roguelike. Here are the details on the content update:
“Version 1.1.0.0 expands the game’s five starting Avatars with new build styles, Avatar-exclusive Tech Chips and supporting chip sets designed to give players more ways to experiment with each character.
At the beginning of a run, players can now select from three Avatar-exclusive chips that help define their playstyle. Those choices also influence the regular Tech Chips, Slot Module Chips and Weapon Tech Chips available throughout the run, creating more distinct build paths for each Avatar.
The update also significantly expands “Time to Choose,” the system that lets players select bonuses that affect their run. Previously focused on Stage 1, the feature can now be unlocked at the beginning of additional stages through the Fate Editor.
New choices include Me of Another World, which grants a Tech Chip belonging to another Avatar – Storm of Possibility, which adds additional options to Challenge Events. Also added is Future Manipulation, which turns the player’s next reward into Legendary grade.”
As you can see, this was a substantial update. Thus, if things like this continues, the roguelike will get even more robust as time goes on, and as more people play. The title is available on Steam and Xbox.
