Roguelite Tactical RPG Dunebound Tactics Has Launched on Steam

We are all on a journey to try to make it to a certain destination. Some of our journeys will be more perilous than others, but if you wish to partake in a truly trying adventure, then you’ll want to play Dunebound Tactics. The game, which was made by Terahard and published by Indie.io, puts you in a rogulite party-based RPG adventure where you must do whatever you can to get to the mythical place called Haven. The catch? Many on your caravan aren’t likely to survive the trip, especially with some of the choices you have to make. So, how far will you go to both reach Haven…and reach it with as many people as possible? Here’s the breakdown for the title:

“Most tactics games hand you a battlefield and ask you to read it. This one hands you the tools to rewrite it. Cover can be obliterated or dragged out of position. Ice pillars rise to choke a flanking route, explosive pillars turn a chokepoint into a liability, and a pitfall dug early becomes the answer to a problem three turns later. Caravan skills reach in from off the field to
buff the party or clear a path for it. Positioning still matters, but the ground underneath it is negotiable.

The cost of all this sits in the hold. The world runs on Elios, a resource that rewrites life and death and leaves crystals where the dead used to be, and it is the only thing that keeps the engine turning. It is also inside every member of the crew. A wounded survivor can go to the infirmary or can be extracted, which fuels the caravan and leaves a husk behind. The desert is rarely generous enough to make that an easy call. No single attempt is meant to be the one that works. Wrecks of earlier caravans yield modules and occasionally survivors, dynamic world generation reshapes the route each time out, and every failed run leaves the next one better equipped.

Crews are assembled from fifteen classes, sixteen traits and more than fifty modules, while thirty-eight enemy types
stand between the caravan and the horizon as the Imperials and the Arcanists fight over what is left of the world.”

You have a harrowing adventure ahead. Go forth, survive, and we hope you can live with the choices that you make! If not? Well…at least you tried!
