The birth of a new development team is always something to appreciate. That means that new minds and voices are coming together to make the titles they’ve dreamed of, adding something fresh to the gaming space. In the case of Team Trifold, they’re a new group that was formed out of Black Salt Games and Disc 2 Games, with all three teams being a part of a unit in Christchurch. That’s one way to expand! The new team’s first title will be the dungeon-crawling RPG Nothing Lost, which is in development right now for Steam. Below you can find the game’s announcement trailer and details on the title itself:

“Enter the Tower of Souls, a monstrous necropolis that has claimed generations of shamanic warriors – and will likely claim yours. Battle your way up its shifting floors, channel the spirits of those lost before you, and leave your own soul behind for the next warrior brave enough to climb.

Fall, rise, and fight again. No death is in vain.”

The game will be a test of your skills, and how well you can adapt to each new threat you come across. How many attempts will it take for you to rise up to the top? You’ll find out when the game drops. In the meantime, here are some of the game’s key features:

• Skill-based real-time action combat: Battle swarms of monsters with melee, ranged, and magical abilities, using precise attacks, smart positioning and tactical evasion to survive.
• Encounter your fallen heroes: Each slain shaman remains in the Tower as a named spirit, carrying the powers they held in life. Absorb, equip, and summon them in future runs to help the next successor climb higher.
• Limitless Combinations: Equip up to three souls at a time and combine their abilities, buffs and traits to create powerful combinations. Experiment with new loadouts and adapt your strategy across generations.
• An ever-shifting Tower to conquer: Ascend randomized floors across five distinct biomes, filled with dangerous enemies, wandering spirits, collectables and secrets.
• Regroup, Upgrade and Return: Survive the Tower and spend your rewards at the Threshold; unlock upgrades, meet eccentric allies, and prepare the next shaman for their climb.
