If humanity truly makes it to a point where we can live in space and not just travel through parts of it, you have to wonder what the various ships we fly and the bases we live in will look like. We certainly have a lot of ideas, based on various sci-fi shows, movies, and video games. But in the case of Main Sequence by Mythwright and Tumbling Dumpling Studio, they want YOU to be the designer of humanity’s future! In this base building game, you’ll be the one designing and creating ships and stations aplenty, and then automate the process to get things done even faster. There’s a demo already available on Steam, but, you can also join a new playtest that’s launched. Check out the breakdown below:

“Featuring the full work-in-progress version of the game, the Main Sequence playtest provides the most extensive look at the game yet, with dozens of hours of content to explore as pioneers set out to expand humanity’s footprint amongst the stars.

Starting out with a single mining ship in a resource-rich asteroid belt, embark on a voyage across space to collect and refine
materials, build your factory, research new technologies, and reach new frontiers.

Explore the galaxy as a solo voyager or team up in co-op, travelling to the edge of the solar system and beyond to expand your industrial operation. Research advanced technologies to reach distant star systems and locate deep-space resources, building your ship and space station module-by-module as you venture into the unknown.”

The playtest itself will only last until September 25th. Why? Because the teams are getting ready for a full Steam Early Access launch a little later this year. So, by being part of the playtest, the demo, or the Early Access build, you’ll help shape the game for what it will be like when it eventually launches.
