The hype around Arknights: Endfield cannot be denied. The teams at Hypergryph and GRYPHLINE have been working on the anime-style Action RPG for quite some time, while launching certain versions earlier this year and showing it off at any and every gaming convention they can think of. Not that we blame them, as reception has been positive so far. Fast forward to now, and we’re literally one week away from its Steam launch. To that end, the team has revealed that alongside that launch will come the “Sanctuary of Ink” update that’ll bring even more to the game than before. You can learn more about it below:

“The new chapter takes Endministrators inside Si’s Painting, where brushstrokes restore broken paths and a search for healing brings the Endministrator’s past into focus. Two playable Operators and new combat challenges join the adventure, while a countryside inn offers a change of pace between excursions.

Si, a Feranmut Proxy, welcomes the injured Endministrator to Yuanyuan Manor Inn to recover. Her home lies inside a landscape painting of her own creation. Strange phenomena in the surrounding mountains soon draw the pair into a new chapter of
the main story, exploring a connection that stretches back a decade.

As players travel through the painted landscape, Si’s brush becomes their way forward: a stroke across a gap brings a bridge into being. Creatures formed from objects within the painting inhabit the world, though not all welcome visitors. A further trial awaits at the journey’s end.”

But that only scratches the surface of what the new update offers. For example, the new update brings added music across multiple genres. Then, there’s the combat system, which is getting returning and new features to help make things even more robust.
