Look, there used to be a time when being a “geek” or “nerd” wasn’t something to praise. Where it wasn’t “openly accepted” to be called that in one form or another. In the title Lenin Street Geek Shop, you’ll be taken to a town in the 2000s where your goal is to help spread the good word and merch about various geek topics and items to anyone who wants to get them. The shop is under your control, and this management title will test you to see how far you’re willing to go to make your shop succeed. A demo is out now thanks to Steam Next Fest, and you can learn more about it below:
“You are Kirill, a worker in a small geek shop on Lenin Street. You stand behind the counter, count snacks, and sell bootleg Half-Life 2 discs, while absolute madness is happening outside the window!
Order a Sticky Fetish and a Howl’s Moving Shack from the geek supplier, or get some vodka with mole from a sketchy dude on a bike to sell at triple the price. It’s up to you what to put on display and which customers to attract. But remember: rumors spread fast and affect your reputation…
Only a small fraction of the motley crowd hanging around the shop day and night will have time to drop by. No, seriously: the full game features 77 characters with their own preferences and stories. An impending pixelpox epidemic, a clash of subcultures, and a lovers’ shootout — why does everything always happen right under the windows of your shop?! Sort it out before a concerned customer calls the cops!”
Doesn’t that sound wild? And the team has made it clear that even more insanity awaits you! So, why not try out the demo, see what else awaits you, and see whether you’ll be able to keep your shop afloat! What’s the worst that could happen?
