The Subminer Demo Arrives On Steam

•

Just so you know, we’re going to do a LOT of water puns with this one. So if you need to surface before drowning in them, we understand. The ocean has provided gaming with many incredible titles, and the team at Tech Turtles (that one isn’t a pun) is hoping to add their own wave of content to the mix via The Subminer. However, while other diving-focused titles is all about fun, collecting fish, and maybe running a restaurant, this one is a survival horror game where you truly never know what you’ll see in the depths, and the creatures there are en-trench-ed in more ways than one. A demo is available now on Steam, and you can learn more about it below:

“The Subminer combines high risk/high reward mining, claustrophobic exploration and underwater survival-exploration into a tense roguelike loop. Set in an alien ocean beneath the icy crust of Enceladus, you must mine your way through a breakable environment while being aware of your surroundings. Each dive is darker and more dangerous, and you never know what terrors are lurking in the shadows.

Progress through a procedurally generated ocean spanning 3 depth levels – each filled with its own secrets, traps and monsters – and upgrade your toolkit at the end of every run to dive a little further each time. But be sure to manage your resources carefully while you are underwater as one small miscalculation could mean death.

How deep are you willing to go?”

Good question. How far ARE you willing to go? Are you willing to see if the tides of fate are with you? Or will you wash out of your suit with nothing left in it? Check these key features if you’re still on the bubble:

  • Deep sea roguelike exploration across three increasingly dark and dangerous depths
  • Procedurally generated environments so no two runs are the same
  • Fully breakable terrain with chain reactions that can open paths to progress or peril
  • High risk/reward roguelike loop with meaningful meta-progression
  • Rescue NPCs, complete side quests and rebuild the surface base
  • Bosses, traps and corrupted creatures waiting in the dark

Well, we think we’re out of puns, so we’ll just tell you to check the game out now and if you like it, wishlist it on Steam! Cause you like the game and forget…then you’re sunk.
