Coal Duty Has Launched On Steam Early Access

•

Steam Early Access has put many developers on the path to success by allowing the dev team to work with gamers to make their titles truly refined before launch. The team at Corecrew Games is next in line for that, as they just launched their horror-comedy co-op title Coal Duty in Early Access. The game will have you and five friends trying to get as much coal as possible so you can get out of the mine for good. Oh, and you’ll have to survive monsters all the while. Fun! Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

“Down in the shafts, the usual workplace hazards apply. Mines stretch across multiple biomes and three floors of difficulty, and the company gets worse the deeper a crew pushes. Dozens of creatures live down there. Proximity voice chat means a crew’s plan is heard most clearly by whoever is standing closest, and that is not always the crew. Whatever a miner finds and decides not to declare is nobody’s business, right up until the quota comes up short.

This is the start of the contract, not the end. Corecrew expects Coal Duty to spend 12 to 18 months in Early Access, and its roadmap includes new escape routes and endings, new creatures, new biomes, expanded hub activities and more tools and
items. Players shape what gets built first through the studio’s Discord, Steam discussions and feedback forms.”

As noted, you’ll help shape the game via your input, so don’t be afraid to drop constructive criticism so the game can be iterated on and improved over time. If you get the game now, you’ll receive a discount on Steam!
