90s Adventure-Style Title Ghost Haunting Releases Demo

While some balk at the idea that people are “drowning in nostalgia” in certain media spaces, it’s important to remember that nostalgia can drive us to make new things that merely pay tribute to what came before, instead of just remaking what we already had. For the team at Three Headed Monkey Studios, wth some help from Daedalic Entertainment, they decided to invoke the vibe of the old-school LucasArts point-and-click adventure titles by making Ghost Haunting. It’s an adventure title in the vein of those old games, and you can try the demo out today on Steam. Here’s a little more on the game before you try it out:

“The 2D point-and-click adventure captures the spirit of the LucasArts classics with hand-crafted pixel art, dark
humor and young Gigi, whose approach to problem-solving rarely leaves the furniture intact.

When Gigi discovers that her grumpy grandpa Giovanni is a legendary ghost hunter, she reaches a perfectly reasonable
conclusion: if ghosts can visit the living, she can visit the dead and bring Grandma home. A talking pumpkin demon called Baron Butt(er)nut is willing to help. Getting Grandpa’s permission is not currently a priority.”

The game really does look and feel like something LucasArts would’ve made, and so if you have a hankering for the games of old, but want a fresh spin on them, you should jump into Steam and play the demo today!
