The beauty of music is that it comes in many different forms. In fact, the true nature of music is that it can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. As such, games like OFFBEAT are important because they allow gamers to create all manner of music in the style that they want. True to form, the team at Pantaloon has revealed a new update for their rhythm management game. The update is all about Synthwave, which means you’ll have even more music to create! Check out the details below:
“This neon-drenched update will soak you in the glory of heavy basslines and intricate timbres. The Synthwave update introduces three new musical objects, 11 new jobs and the long- awaited support for both midi keyboards and computer keyboards along with plenty of quality of life updates! Shiver me timbers!”
Want even more info on the update? We got your back:
- Three new musical objects: a VHS drum for all your big, heavy bets; a surprisingly versatile FM-powered synth that looks suspiciously like the racing wheel from the local arcade, and your smoothie maker for a raucous introduction to chorus and flanger techniques.
- 11 new jobs: including making a TV advert for an anti-sleep device, indulging in some vaporwave with DJ Sludgepump and bringing a good vibe to Lilith’s haunted family dinner.
- Midi control: long-requested by the community, you can now plug in a midi keyboard and use channels 1-4 to control the instruments plugged into the sequencer!
- Keyboard control: likewise, play the instruments using your computer keyboard with note qunatisation keeping everything in-key.
- New mode: introducing the phrygian mode, a new scale full of threatening overtones. Who doesn’t love that?!
- Manual grid placement: Your instruments can now go exactly where you want them to when you take them out of storage!
That’s a lot to partake in! The team promises that even more updates will follow in 2027 and given the “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating that the game has on Steam, you can tell that people are truly enjoying this. Will you be next to make some sweet music?
