Looking for something a little different to play? Indie studio Oopsie Daisies and their publisher ARTE France have some good news! The chillingly dark yet playful narrative adventure Tom the Postgirl is out now for Nintendo Switch and PC, and it’s sure to deliver.
In this silly and spooky game, you’ll play as Tom, a young girl delivering packages in a town that simply… isn’t quite right. Uncover the dark secrets of its inhabitants and get caught up in all sorts of hijinks!
- Walk and stalk!: Frame-by-frame animation gives a retro feel to this universe and immerses the player in a strange village where the slightest detail can turn into a suspicious event. With unique hand-drawn backgrounds and numerous hiding places from which to spy on residents, players take their time, observe carefully, and witness a series of fascinating, unsettling scenes.
- A guilty pleasure: From drug-dealing pigeons in the cemetery to wandering cowboy earthworms and grumpy squirrels: humans aren’t the only ones worth watching. Whether you focus on your delivery job or disturb the peace, is your choice… All gameplay is as transgressive as it is unapologetic: spy, sabotage and cause chaos, all without losing your innocent smile as a model postgirl.
- Between Adult Swim and a children’s book: Tom the Postgirl blends the naive aesthetic of illustrated books with the raw, nonsensical strangeness of an Adult Swim cartoon… delivering packages has never been so irresponsible.
Curious to get in on the mischievous fun for yourself? Go check it out “post”-haste on Steam and the Nintendo Switch store! The game currently runs for $9.99, but for the first two weeks you can enjoy a 10% off discount.
