Picture right now…Gamescom. Or, if you prefer, any major gaming event. From a fan’s perspective, you might think that if you made it to the show, you’ve “made it” in the gaming industry. However, that’s not fully true. Like with every convention, there are issues that can pop up, and bad places you can end up. For the team at Road Studio S.A., they learned this the hard way while promoting their upcoming title, Road Truckers: New Beginning, and they haven’t been afraid to share it. Bless their hearts.
Long story short, they were meant to go to Gamescom, and then the person organizing their booth quit, putting them in a bind. Then, the decorations they made never made it, and the “spot” they got for their driving simulator was anything but picturesque. Yet, they did what they could with a bunch of Sharpies (no joke) and are encouraging people to try out their driving title. Check out the Gamescom trailer below:
As for their experience at the show, you can check it out for yourself here. Seriously, it’s a wild ride, and we applaud the team for trying to make the most out of the situation they got. Many wouldn’t have set up at all, let alone voice their issues in a press release and YouTube reel. Yet, this shows the enduring spirit of the indie space, and how you need to keep pushing forward, even when it seems like the world itself is against you.
So, check out their game on Steam or PlayStation. It’ll release later this year.
